Dharmapuri, August 23, 2025 — Over 200 members of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) carried out a road “roko” at the Karagadahalli toll plaza near Palacode in Dharmapuri district. The protest occurred as the group was returning from the party’s state-level conference held in Parapathi, Madurai, in hired vehicles including vans, buses, and cars. Disturbed by the imposition of toll charges on their return, the TVK cadres staged a sit-in on the roadway, blocking traffic for approximately one hour, while raising slogans and demanding refunds.
Following the blockade, Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoharan and his team intervened promptly. They engaged in talks with the protestors as well as the toll plaza’s management. As a result, the authorities agreed to refund the toll charges to the affected vehicle users. With the concession granted, the TVK members dispersed and normal traffic resumed.
